The Hayward and Paramour link is sound. Edward my wifes grandfather 1879 - 1970 was a carpenter all his life with H&P. His son Edward (Ted) who died last year and my father in law started as trainee Quatity surveyor with H&P eventually ended up as Managing Director till its closure in late 1980's.

I need to look back at Elizabeth Corsair summers again 1848 - 1923 wife of my Edward Mummery - her family had strong links with Customs and Excise at Dover and Weymouth and her father was stationed in Turkey in that role- maybe John Mummery was a link.

Yes - names fit in with Corsair in my tree. Its the lady. - Her father was in Coast Guard service in Swannage Dorset and transferred to Dover - so not Customs and Excise. Noticed also a few Dixon's in mourners - this may link to an earler piece of information relating to a John Mummery where there were a few Dixons in a census. Could be a link ie cousins etc. More research needed

Trying to assimulate Known info vs all the lovely data supplied. I now have 2 pages of data. It is obvious that some birth dates / Death dates I have are wrong. Either records were innaccurate or i have missread.

John seems may be a red herring and Edward could be more likely or John was as earlier Mummery or other relation. I have been looking at church graves and inscriptions are often extremely hard to view.

But Edward Mummery in obits 1931 and Elizabeth Corsair Mummery d 1922 (nee Summers) are correct . I need to now using what I have, move back from them.

The Factual info is invaluable in establishing those around Edward and Elizabeth and certainly not a waste of time.

Derek, I know we've posted rather a lot of information to absorb in one go but Edward's father was definitely also called Edward and died 1923 - Edward jnr is named in the probate to which I provided a link.

John Mummery is the Grandfather of your Edward Mummery who was born in 1855

I think you got in a muddle and thought he was Edwards father.
.

The problems, I'm afraid , are mainly down to your not calculating correct birth years from the death info provided, and even persisting with those birth years when the error was pointed out to you.................and also making assumptions.


ALL the info about the line back to John's parentage is on this thread................take time to absorb it
