Laura Report 7 Aug 2015 12:20

Hello, I have a mystery and I hope someone can help me solve it.
Minnie Warwick born possibly Farnworth, Lancs, possibly in 1887 parentage unknown, and that is the mystery.
Her Uncle is Frederick Albert Warwick and she is shown on the 1891 census as his niece but before and after I can find no match, she appears to have disappeared!
I did think that perhaps Minnie was a pet name, short for something like Elizabeth but surely her true name would be on the census?

Help please :-)

Rambling Report 7 Aug 2015 12:28

Many of the names on the census are pet names, Minnie I thinkk is more likely to be short for Mary or Margaret, but not necessarily

there is a Maggie Jane born Bolton which covers Farnworth

Births Jun 1886 (>99%)

WARWICK Maggie Jane Bolton 8c 442

or if birth was not in Farnworth

Births Jun 1888 (>99%)

WARWICK Margaret Ann Blackburn 8e 421

WARWICK Mary Ann Salford 8d _1

There was an older brother Guy
Birth
1851
Ripon, Yorkshire, who is on the 1861 with parents
so may be worth looking for him after that?

Laura

Laura Report 7 Aug 2015 13:30

Annie May Warwick, who was William Warwick's daughter was born in 1887 but in America, her parents emigrated there two years prior to her birth - was a great idea as a lead but sadly got no-where, thank you anyway.
