Richard McQuillan was born in Ireland between 1825 and 1835.He moved to Scotland and was married in St Margarets in Ayr in 1853.Most of their time was spent in Waterside, Dalmellington Ayrshire but they also lived in Lanarkshire and my Grandfather was married to Janet Corrigan in or near Lesmahagow.

Richard married Jane Fowler from Co Down [Kircubbin ?] Her father Robert and his mother both died in the Cumnock area in Ayrshire.

. As they died in Scotland their death certificates will name both parents including mothers' maiden surnames if the informant knew the details. That may help to find their births but Irish records may be a bit scarce for the time period.
