Im trying to find more information on my gr grandparents Martha 1855c and John 1853. I believe on 1901 cenus they were living at Gilbert Road?? Smethwick and possibly 1911 census Bertram Road, but the later I am not sure if it is the correct couple. In my searches I have found that there are two couples of the same name and approx. d.o.b. my enquiry is that I would like to know exactly where they are buried and any other info. I have found a death in Worcester of all places and the ages etc., fall into place but also the other couple whose deaths are recorded in Rowley Regis again ages etc., tie up. Is there anyway i can find which is the correct couple without sending for death certificates. any info would be greatly appreciated.

Surely you can tell which couple on the census by the name of the child from whom you descend?

Margee I understand your questioning but it would be a number of years later for their deaths and the children would be married by 1911 anyway. Now Ann of Cardiff, yes exactly the family but now I am wondering in the deaths that I have for Worcester, would it be that Smethwick in 1919 to 1926 (date of deaths) could have come under Worcester. I will have to search on that. thanks for your help

Ann of Cardiff, thank you for what you have sent me through regarding the census's but I already have this information. Original request was to find out regarding my gr grandparents (john 1853c and Martha 1855c) as where they were living approx. between 1912 and 1927 for they both passed away between 1919-1926. I believe they were still in Smethwick on 1911 census so would like to know where they were from 1911 until their deaths. thanking you

Info about Smethwick
SMETHWICK REGISTRATION DISTRICT
Registration County : Staffordshire. Created : 1.10.1932 (out of West Bromwich registration district). Abolished : 1.4.1966 (to become part of Warley East, West Bromwich, and Birmingham registration districts).
So I would be looking at West Bromwich prior to 1932

Hi Jude, thank you for your info but I definitely think that West Bromwich doesn't come into it. For all through previously searches West Bromwich as never come into connection with Smethwick except for after 1966 when a number of boroughs amalgamated.

I am just saying that prior to 1932, Smethwick was West Bromwich. So if they died in Smethwick it would be West Bromwich. And if you can't find it in West Bromwich, then they didn't die in Smethwick.
So if you are not finding anything in West Bromwich, then they didn't die in Smethwick. So if for example you are finding a death in Worcester, then that means they moved

thanks to all that provided certain information but was wondering if anyone could check electoral roll to find out where this couple was between 1919 - 1926 perhaps it might throw more light onto the subject. thank you

Although the 1911 census gives address as Smethwick the registration district at that time was Kings Norton (Worcestershire). Unfortunately it is confusing as the registration districts within Staffordshire/ Warwickshire/ Worcestershire went through many changes. You may find more information here:

thanks AustinQ yes I did know that Smethwick came under Kings Norton and I think that changed about 1912 approx. Im still unsure as to where my gr grandparents are buried if it is actually Worcester I suppose I should therefore send for death certificates to see who registered the deaths and any links to that. I was just wondering if the electoral roll would show up anything between 1919 to 1926. thanks once again

brummie46 - why not give us details of the potential deaths you have found and we can then perhaps investigate them further (e.g. newspapers)
