Find Ancestors

Hi.
Can anyone find a Jeffrey Williams on the 1911 census. Think he was born Burnley 1909. But he also had connections to cowpe in Rossendale.
Not sure of fathers name as it says mothers maiden name was Williams. I also know he married Sarah Anne needham around 1933.

Jeffrey Metcalfe was a fellow-boarder in 1911 - father of her children ???

Could be...because found a baptism of Margery/ Marjorie in 1917 at st Stephens Burnley child of Geoffrey Metcalfe and Ann Williams. Late baptism? :-)

Ah but Geoffrey and Ann eventually got married ...maybe Geoffrey could not get a divorce if married before ? ;-)

Can I ask ...does it say where John or Jane Williams were born....rumour has it they were from Wales...bit obvious with surname but maybe true ? :-)

1901 says they were both born Burnley

Having looked again at the 1871 image, I see that Samuel was originally listed as Nephew, which was scored out and Grandson put in instead.

May be wrong, but I think Samuel was indeed Ann's son, but Mary Ann may well have been Jane's daughter, as I first thought, even though the transcription (often wrong on Ancestry) says she's Ann's.
The image just says Grand-daughter, and doesn't show who the parent(s) were.


I can't see the 1871 grand-daughter Sarah Ann in later censuses. If she died, I don't see her death in Burnley before 1881. Don't know whose daughter she was.

Sarah Ann is the child of one the unmarried daughters, if Lancs bmd is to be believed .............
