Can't find anything further on Helena Wells nee Davison.

There is a marriage for the daughter and looks like she has two children. Not having much joy with a current address for her though.

Thanks for following that up Roots,

Would be useful to try and follow the children up as if I can get an address,
That would prob be better than ordering marriage cert for Helena as it may not
Give any fathers details etc so may not know if it's the right one!

Following on from the marriage that Catherine posted for Helena Davison, this may be John W Wells

John W
Wells
1908
Slough M.B.
Buckinghamshire

The other two occupants are blacked out, so one may be his wife, Helena and the other a son born before the register was taken. They also had a daughter born in 1940.

Will try to follow them up.

Thanks for the update Root!

Will try the address that Rose sent.

Could you possibly see if you could find a Cyril Claude Davison born 7 May 1924 on the 1939?

Also could be DAVIDSON

he was registered as Cyril Claude Davison and then again as Claude Davison, I am unsure as to why twice!!

Ellen name obviously appears but father is blank

Much appreciated!!

There is a possible death posted on page 1 for Ruby 1915 which is maybe why Joan has Ruby as a middle name.

Some of the records on the 1939 register are closed for people that may still be living so perhaps that is why we haven't found Joan. Helena could be lurking about with a diminutive form of her first name. That doesn't explain though why we haven't found a marriage or death for her as Davison.

I can't see Hubert or Christina in the 1939 register or a birth for Christina.

Wow !!

My internet went down so I lost all connection!

I Really appreciate all the help.

Catherine, thanks for that. I have recorded the info.

I wonder where N.Davison is now, be interesting to find an address to make possible contact.

Many thanks for your help Mavis too.

I've not seen the info about what Henry left Amy so that is interesting.
I do have Henry & Amy marriage Cert and also Henry's death certificate.

In regards to Joyce's childhood, she stated on a form that she went to Sandwich Central School, I emailed and they said they have been through records but could find nothing, so maybe it was another school in the same region !

Gutted!!

Keep hitting brick walls.

I know Joyce was in the ATS - would their be any of her army records available maybe??

Questions questions....

Rootgatherer - Thank you for Hubert Henry's death.

Frustrated about the other girls :-( :-( :-( :-(

You say you have Joan's birth certificate, so could you give her date of birth please?

I found this and thought it may be a possible for Joan:-

Joan Davison (Cowley) 18 Apr 1922 Female Land Girl Assisting & Worker Single 60 4

Percy G Cowley 23 Apr 1882 Male Farmer Mixed Married 60 1
Christabel (Fanny) Cowley 16 Jun 1886 Female Unpaid Domestic Duties Married 60 2
Sorry, this record is officially closed. Check if you can open a closed record.
Daisy Davidson 14 Aug 1890 Female Unpaid Domestic Duties Single 60 5
Sorry, this record is officially closed. Check if you can open a closed record.
Alan (W) White 20 Jul 1937 Male Under School Age Single 60 7

............as you see the name for Joan is noted as Davison (Cowley) so, as she is single, I was wondering if she had been adopted by the Cowleys????

I would suggest that these are possible children born to Henry and Amy:-

1943 and 1944 births removed in case the people are still living.

Squeaky020
As the above dates of birth are fairly recent, and the people may still be living, once you have acknowledged the post I will delete the post so best note the information down.

Amy M Davison (Cooper) 20 Aug 1910 Female Shorthand Typist Minister Labourer Single 84 2
Margaret Cooper 12 Mar 1885 Female Unpaid Domestic Duties Widowed 84 1
