Hi Yes that is the correct census information as that was the house he was born in. He married Christina before they emigrated i think the wedding took place in Kirkintilloch but I may be wrong.

Thats such a shame, terrible thing to happen to anyone . Poor family must have been distraught.

Do you think thats why ive not been able to locate any information on James? As ive been looking at Pennsylvania as that was the address on my grandmothers letter.

Jean, is this the correct family with James before his emigration? Did he marry Christina in Scotland or the US?

His parents names were Alexander Mcdonald and Jane MCdonald (nee Pollock). Sorry I just realised I put wrong year of birth. It was actually 04/03/1897. According to the records I have for him he married a Christina Duncan in July 1925. Christinas dob was 13/04/1895. Thank you for your help.

Not seeing a US death reg which matches his dob.

In case they got the dob wrong, do you know the names of his parents as that may give a clue?
Does the letter indicate if he was married or have children?

Hi there im looking for a little help and not sure if im in the right place or not. Im trying to locate records for my Great Uncle who emigrated from Scotland to America in the 1920's. His name was James Pollock Mcdonald, date of birth 04/03/1895. I have a letter which he wrote to my late Grandmother in 1950 the address on the letter was 360 McKee Place Oakland Pennsylvania and I have no idea if he ever moved from there or not. I have tried several ways to locate records on him or his family but have been unsuccessful so far Would anyone be able to assist by pointing me in the right direction. Thanks
