Thank you Gins.

She is a mystery!

Just throwing this one out there! Margaret' father James Robinson Fox appears to have died in 1912 (if I've got the right one)

I wonder if Margaret was looked after by her grandmother, Jane Ann Robinson? Did Margaret become a 'Robinson' ?

Yes I edited Austin to say just that.

Well- apart from Margaret A R Fox/ Fowler born 1912

So leave it open just in case!

David Report 11 Jun 2016 15:22

Thank you very much Gins.

I agree with you Austin.

If so, I do believe I am all done and dusted on this one now.

Except for Margaret of course. I will keep trying on that one.

I am thrilled with all this information.

Well done everyone and again, thank you all so much.

David.

Thanks for posting Gins- I suspect the top one is our William despite him being listed as widowed. I think he'd been out of the marital home quite a while and it was probably easier to say he was widowed.

Gee

Gee Report 11 Jun 2016 14:39

That could be him - good work

Fowler Household (1 Person)
21 Stanley Grove , Weston-super-Mare M.B., Somerset, England

William Fowler 02 Apr 1892 Male Coal Miner War Wounded Light Work Widowed 137 2

Heres the other one. He's either William T or William J

I am about to post a thread similar to this one.

I do hope it's not so complicated!

AustinQ

AustinQ Report 11 Jun 2016 14:03

I can't see an exact match on the 1939- but there are these two which hopefully someone may look up for us- both coming up as birth 2nd April 1892:

Fowler Household Weston-super-Mare M.B., Somerset, England
First name(s) Last name(s) Birth year
William Fowler 1892

Fowler Household Southall M.B., Middlesex, England
First name(s) Last name(s) Birth year
William ? Fowler 1892
Letitia A Fowler is also on this record

AustinQ

AustinQ Report 11 Jun 2016 14:00

Gins I don't think that's the correct death- it was actually 1939- but the page it's on is headed 1938-1939. Document states he was a fireman born Liverpool.

A good find on the school record- so we now have his DOB- 2nd April 1891

Hi Gins

Just checked the records and William Fowler's father was James Walter so that school admission record is correct.

Sorry, I should have said thank you to Choccy.

Thank you Choccy.

Hi again Austin

I can't find an obvious death for William Fowler either. Actually my interest is mainly with Barbara as she is connected to my family so William's death is not too much of a bother to me really.

I have tried every way I can think of to find further info for Margaret but I am not having any luck so far. Going by the date of birth given on William's Air Force record, I am "assuming" her exact date of birth was 5th March 1912 and not 1914.

Her fathers name was James Robinson Fox and so the second initial of her middle name might very well be Robinson.

Not that it helps! :-)

This would fit with the Q registration

AustinQ Report 11 Jun 2016 12:05

David- I've had another look for Barbara's husband, but can't see anything obvious for him. He isn't mentioned as living with Barbara on the report re the death of her son at sea, and neither is he listed living with her on the 1939 register (although looking at the information Choccy included she is still listed as married).

His exact DOB from his birth certificate may help to locate him either on the 1939 register or through a death record- but other than that I can't think of anything else that would help to locate him.

Oh wow!

I have received the RAF Record Austin. Thank you very much.

I have to go out now so will check back on here later this evening or first thing tomorrow.

AustinQ

AustinQ Report 10 Jun 2016 16:28

David- the RAF record is from Find my Past. I've tried to send you the main page of the record so you can see the information. If you have any problem's viewing please let me know and I'll try and send it again.

David

David Report 10 Jun 2016 15:49

It would be great to know if Margaret married and had children. If she did marry either as Fox or Fowler, she didn't use both middle initials of A R.

David

David Report 10 Jun 2016 14:48

Thank you. I can't find that Royal Air Force record on Ancestry.

Just to add that Barbara's place of residence with her parents on the 1911 census is

43 Back New Row New Washington
