Gerry

Gerry Report 27 Oct 2016 12:09

I am in contact with the other Tree Owner and am waiting for his response to my request for info on where he he got his facts.

I don't think its a spanner in the works Daeq as I am almost certain that the Bridgend girl is not the one. Your info confirms this I think

I hate to put a spanner in the works but this 'could' be the one from Bridgend ??

I would contact the owner of the "Bunyan Family Tree" on Ancestry, to see what further information he can provide.

He has photo's of Christina and Gordon and their daughter Evelyn.

Looks like it

Name: Gordon Seller Wallace
Birth Date: 17 Jun 1893
Date of Registration: Mar 1972
Age at Death: 78
Registration district: Greenwich

So it's looks like she may have been a local girl who married a soldier stationed at Woolwich

There is a tree on Anc that suggests she was Christiana Sarah Lloyd b 1889 in Bridgend, Wales with father John Lloyd a miner?? You have probably seen it.

I noticed that when she married in 1915 that her husband lists his age as 21 and she was listed as 23. I wonder if she took a few years off her age at the time due to her husband being younger?? My own grandmother certainly did. However she lists her father as in the army and deceased at the time of her marriage. Could this have been to impress her husband who was in the Army???

It would be interesting to see whether the birth cert of Christiana Sarah Lloyd in 1889 lists the same birth day and month

Maybe she doesn't show on any census because she abroad with her army family

Marrying in Woolwich suggests her father was stationed there .

Gerry Report 27 Oct 2016 00:29

Christina married Gordon Seller Wallace 26/3/1915 Woolwich. Her Father was John Lloyd, Sergeant Major in the Army Servuce Corp. He died before 1915.

My problem is, I can find no record of Christina before her marriage in 1915. Not, in the census, Free BMD, Ancestry, FMP, overseas births, nor military births overseas!!

I got her birth date from the 1939 Census.

Am I too tired and missed her? At the moment, she did not exist before 1915

Can anyone help please?

Gerry :-(
