Suffolk Archives (Bury St. Edmunds one) might perhaps have something on Kedington Workhouse Admissions.

I think that he was the first newspaper death that you posted, Chris, since he was a chair maker. I also think that there was some exaggeration about his age and that he was closer to 90 than 100.

I'm not sure he was Margaret as I think this is my 4 xgreat grandfather and he was living with his son in the 1881 census and was aged 82.

One more of the older generation joined the great majority on Saturday last, in the person of Thomas Cooper, who was formerly a well known chair maker of this parish, but several years past has been in the infirmary of Kedington workhouse.
The deceased is believed to have been nearly one hundred years old. He was conscious to the last.

Would someone be kindly enough to look up a newspaper archive for me in the Bury Free press which is in Suffolk for an article which is headed Have you need pxaks soap? 20 Wickhambrook. It is an article about someone called Thomas Cooper from Wickhambrook and it is dated 31/8/1889 please.
