There is no obvious birth in Scotland but, I guess that she is daughter of Matthew Couper and Barbara Spence

Matthew Cowper
Gender: Male
Marriage Date: 27 May 1842
Marriage Place: South Leith,Midlothian,Scotland
Spouse: Barbara Spence
This couple had twin sons born in Leith, Midlothian in 1857

1861 in Leith and daughter Barbara is at least a year older than the twins.
Everyone born in Leith except mother Barbara Spence who was born in Stromness, Orkney

Mather Cowper 41
Barbara Cowper 41
Williamina Cowper 17
Robert Cowper 12
James Cowper 10
***Barbara Cowper 6
Richard Cowper 4
Matthew Cowper 4

At 1871 Mathew snr is living in lodgings in leith, which is a bit odd because his wife died in Leith in 1872 and Matthew died in 1881

If the 1871 emigration is for the correct girl, it means that Barbara jnr emigrated to Canada before both parents died
Subsequent marriages for other children appear fairly easy to locate

Have a look at the Couper family in Leith at 1851.

Either, Barbara junior is entered with an incorrect age at 1861 or her older sister of the same name died in infancy.
Either way there is no birth record of a Barbara Couper ( or variant) born in Leith between 1855 to 1859

I have searched the original index for the 1861 census and it definitely states Barbara age 6 ??

1851
Mathew Cooper 29
Barbara Cooper 28
Willhemenia Cooper 7
******Barbara Spence Cooper 2
John Cooper 8
Robert Cooper 3
Richard Cooper 2 Mo This child definitely died in infancy
