To Chris Ho. My Father G R Sands, was a cmmercial traveler most of his life, and I understand that in his early life was quite wealthy, weather this was from family background, and his ability to make money. His command of English both written and spoken was good. It is possible his Father was in the Military, this was mentioned, also i believe he may have represented the company Avery Scales. Privately educated I do believe .But where, none of this can be proved. Roland.

"the information sent does not tie in with his education for a man born in 1871"
(is there something Education you have seen online, not sure what you are meaning by above?)

Thank you all for the information given. Yes that was my Grandfather the police officer, Charles Seabrook. I am aware of my Parents being in this part of the country at the date stated, as my eldest sister was born in 1924, and still alive and well. Unfortunetly non of this leads to a marrage certificate, or finding my fathers place of birth, or who his parents were. This has puzzeld my brothers and sisters for years.

Do you think the 1939 Register entry posted earlier could be your parents?
There is no 1871 birth matching the dob given for George Roland Sands, but then it wasn't compulsary to register a birth until 1873.
Roland, you say "does not tie in with his education" - could you clarify please?

Yes, I am the person Roland Sands who posted the message concering my parents, one of two brothers, born Wallasey Wirral. But still at a loss, no confirmation of marrage, or Fathers birth, the information sent does not tie in with his education for a man born in 1871. Grateful for all help given.

AnnC - its good to see you back posting records, but you've forgotten the T&C about identifying living people and identity theft, haven't you?
The birth reg for the people 1936, 1939 & 1943 are probably still alive....and you might well have included the poster himself!!
