I think we've successfully proved that they aren't the children of John and Myrtle. Is it not John and Myrtle you are researching?

Geoffrey H Marshall and Margaret M Oates could have been born around 1940, and so are probably still alive.

There are various births on free bmd for both of them, but I cannot remember a birth for either of them in either Bucklow or Macclesfield.
Similarly possible deaths dotted around.

There are then various possible marriages for the children all around the country etc etc.

If you want to completely disprove any link, then you need a birth certificate for one/both of the children.

Patchem posted a possible marriage in 1964 - between Geoffrey H and Margaret M, which are the most likely parents relating to the births. You'd need to get one of the birth certs to be sure though.

Do you have the marriage cert, to check her status. She may have been married previously and Oates was her married name. There is one marriage in 1937 in Hamstead for Myrtle G Butterwick to Herbert Oates.

Free bmd has a Marshall/Oates wedding in Macclesfield in 1964 who could be the parents. (Bucklow is Cheshire, next to Macclesfield registration district)

In 1965 a John Joseph Percy Marshall married Myrtle Oates. He was 52 and she was 50.
They are a part of a tree I am researching. I have earlier family, but need somethiong checking.

A birth of a Lee Harrison Marshall. Mother Oates. 1967 in Bucklow.
