Can't see anything yet- the 1872 man might not be correct, I'm still looking.

On the baptism for son William Thomas, William is listed is a Stoker RN.

I think this could be the 1872 one, but father named as NOK so possibly not the right one.

Sorry- not to do with William's death- but in on the school admissions James and Mary are living at 3 Meavy Terrace and G H Pengelly is listed as Guardian.

This is the same G H Pengelly in 1911:

1911 England, Wales & Scotland Census Transcription
3 Meavy Terrace Crownhill R S O S Devon, St Budeaux, Devon, England

George Henry Pengelly Head Married Male Postman 36 1875 St Budeaux Devon

Ivy Elizabeth Pengelly Daughter Single Female School 10 1901 Princetown Devon
Olive May Pengelly Daughter Single Female - 7 1904 Princetown Devon

AustinQ

AustinQ Report 26 Feb 2017 11:25

So if George is William's brother, then this confirms the approx birth for William:

1881 England, Wales & Scotland Census Transcription

John Pengelly Head Married Male 38 1843 Laborer H M Dockyard (Gen) Devon, England

John Roger Pengelly Son Single Male 0 1881 - St Budeaux, Devon, England

So, son of John & Elizabeth fits the 1919 Death posted by flip- and he's also listed as Stoker on his son's baptism.

The bits you can see on the national archives site image previously posted (without buying it) does show the record ceasing in 1919, but can't see why, nor the name of the ship.
