Hello all,
I have been trying to find out more about my Great Grandfather, George Walter or Walter George, born circa1870 and died 1929.
I can't find him arriving in Australia but can find him marrying my Great Grandmother Mary Magree in 1903, Also he is named on the birth records of his children, Walter George, Edith May, Mavis Romola , Noreen alice (my grandmother),Doris Irene (Queenie), Mabel Kathleen, Elizabeth Mary
He fought in WWI where he signed up in Adelaide in 1915. On his paper work he puts his birth place as England.
A family story regarding him, is that he had to leave England due to a indiscretion with a married woman. When he arrived in Adelaide he was paid to marry my Great Grandmother as she was either with child or had already a child out of wedlock to a quite well off man, whose family did not want any association with her or the child.
He appears to interchange between his first and second names and seems to have kept under the radar. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be very appreciated.

:-D
