I'm just disappointed that I can't find the marriage record here in Ontario. Just bad luck that it must have been in those 5 years of missing records.

That is absolutely brilliant,Margaretm.Explains why marriage not recorded here.My sister in law says she can remember she was a district nurse when she visited the family in Spennymoor, in about 1948.
