1881 is free census transcriptions on most sites.......or should be,it is on Ancestry and familysearch.

go to search put the name of person and date of birth if knowen place where born

England Wales a're free for 1841-1901. However, the 1911 on FS is pretty useless - it doesn't tie people together into a household
