Ellen's Father William John Smith was a General Labourer on her 1912 marriage cert so not much help.
Thanks for the 1911 info, so convinced you have found the right family.

Does the marriage cert give William John's occupation?

Could this be Ellen in 1911 ??? The name certainly seems to be written as Allen on the image.

Nicola Report 20 May 2017 22:22

I am looking for the residents of 26 Scott Street, Victoria Docks, West Ham, Essex in the 1911 census. I have a marriage of Ellen Smith in April 1912 from this address.
Ellen married William Phillips of 30 Brunel Street and her father was William John Smith ( living at time of daughters marriage and witness)
Ellen was 21 on marriage cert ( 7th April 1912) so born about 1891.
Scott Street does not exist on 1939 register.
Thanks
