That's good to know. How, I wonder, did someone find the phone number? Perhaps they could share their skill?

Got a pm from Margaret today +++DetEcTive+++

Just to let you know mum contacted Edith last night - another member found a phone number so she rang it and it was the lady she's been looking for.

They were both thrilled to bits and have arranged to meet up on Tuesday at the local shopping centre

Thanking you for your kind help, we're all very grateful

So glad they have found each other after all these years and hope they keep in touch for many years to come.
<3 :-)

192.com says the Sheffield address is still current. There doesn't seem to be an entry on the BT online phone book matching either surnames

She is on Electoral roles up until 2014. Perhaps these might help? I will pm them to you.

In case it helps -
the marriage was in the name of Edith H Brookfield and John D Hutson, Rother Valley

Someone by that name is living with a gentleman (not John) in Sheffield. There's no guarentee it the same person, but?

Assuming John was a similar age to her, this might be his death
JOHN DENNIS
Last name HUTSON
Gender Male
Birth day 10
Birth month 11
Birth year 1939
Death quarter 4
Death year 2003
District North Yorkshire
District number 6501Q
Register number Q3
Entry number 049

It's my mums birthday today and we have been talking about some of her old friends.

She's meeting up with a couple of them tomorrow - one of whom was one of her bridesmaids back in 1959, the other one is proving very elusive to find, her name is Edith Brookfield later Hutson.

Edith was born 1938ish married Denis Hutson in 1961 and they had two children, not sure of their names but think it was David and Joanne.

Before marrying Edith lived with her dad Billy Brookfield at 17 park Street, Swallownest, nr Sheffield. Billy only had one arm

Edith had step siblings, Marjorie and Eric surname Astle. I vaguely remember Eric myself as I used top go to his house at Kiveton Park, where they ran a Sunshine Corner Bible group every week, Eric married a Mary and they had two children, David and Rachel - Rachel is approx my age 56/57

Edith lived at North Anston along time ago and the last place heard of was on an estate near Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre, Nr Sheffield.

The bridesmaids at my mums wedding were Jeanie Challens, Doreen Maw and Edith Brookfield or Edie as she was known.

Doreen was my auntie and died a couple of years ago but its Jeanie whos meeting up with mum tomorrow along with one of her sisters.

My mums name was Joan Edwards, she married Alwynn Maw and Lived at Kiveton Park before moving to North Anston 30 odd years ago.

Any info on Edie would be much appreciated, hopefully she's still alive and it would be brilliant to get in touch with her again before its too late.

I appreciate I might have put this request on the wrong board but I only use this site every blue moon and have lost track as to what to do

Thankyou for reading it any way
