The Chittich on the 1939 register- looks as though Gavin changed his name at some point. All name changes were added to the register (up to 1991).

EDIT- actually, he didn't change his name, Chittick was his middle name, and was added to the register at a later date.

Quite confusing with all the different spellings of the name :-D

There's a son named 'Thos', aged 4, in the 1861 Census, however there isn't any children aged 14 in the 1871 Census, is it possible that he could've died?

Would anyone be able to help me go a bit further back on Catherine Dixon's side?

Possibly her grandparents?

The sister Mary in the 1861 posted above,is the Margaret in the 1871, and is transcribed as Margt on Ancestry's version of 1861.
