Welcome to the boards Thomas.

What is it you're wanting to know? Are you wanting to go backwards from Jean -
as you know her date of birth do you have her birth certificate with Father's name and occupation and her Mother's maiden name which will give us a chance of finding the correct person. Also what address is given on the certificate?

I believe Jean went to Canada i think she used her maiden name Davison or her married name Langfield in 1946 or 1947

Yes, but what do you want to know? Do you have answers to any of the questions asked or do you have any other information which might help us to help you.

greyghost Report 28 Jun 2017 18:38

PM from Thomas - Thomas please keep your answers on the boards here rather than directly messaging helpers. That way we all know what has been said. You could have put the info from the BC here yourself.

"Yes I have Jeans Birth certificate attached. I am new to this kind of research am trying to find any relatives, I was married to her daughter"

Info from Birth certificate -
Father - Thomas William DAVISON (NOT Davidson) - Storekeeper at Shipyard
Mother- Annie Mary Davison formerly Holmes
Born 17th March 1920 @ 23 William Street, Newcastle (upon tyne)

EDIT - I see you've changed your original heading to reflect the correct surname

The family in 1939 - shows Jean's DOB which matches the date on the birth certificate. AS the record is open to view it would indicate (more than likely) that it is known she has died. Records for people born after 1915 are supposed to be closed unless it's known they have died)

It also shows that she changed her name to Nairn at some point after the 1939 register was compiled

Can't see her travelling to or from Canada under any of her surnames.
She would have been Nairn in 1946-7, in any case, not Davison or Langfield.
If she did go, she must obviously have come back again.

There are a number of photos of her, and other relatives, on a tree on Ancestry - tree name "Nairn Heritage" - tree owner gnairn1.
Also in a tree owned by James Peebles, though he seems to have copied it from the Nairn tree.
