If Jean emigrated and didn't return to England, I would doubt that you would be able to view her 1939 register entry if she was born in 1920. Unless of course, someone had sent proof of her death. Otherwise her records would remain as closed.

You assume you have the birth certificate of the correct Jean- but if you look through the information given on this thread, a Jean Davison with that birth date on the 1939 register does not fit with the details of Valeries mum.

The marriage certificate of Jean and Henry Langfield will hopefully narrow down the correct birth certificate for Jean.

Can't see any relative connection to Jean, but just in case- this is the people living at the address you gave in 1946:

1946 Electoral register:
232 Whitton Avenue, Greenford

George G Davis
Helen H Davis
Joan M Keen
Thomas Keen
------------------------------------

The above family are later listed as Davies and Helen is listed as Ellen.

Ellen Hannah Smith married George Davies in 1905 Burnley.
-----------------------------------------

The family in 1939:

26 Betham Road , Ealing M.B., Middlesex, England

Hellen H Davies 11 Dec 1887 Female Unpaid Domestic Duties

Joan M Keen (Davies) 8 May 1916 Female Gas Mantle cutter

Margaret Davies 23 Dec 1927 Female At School Single
--------------------------------

In 1946 Ellen's daughter, Gladys Davies (born 1921, married Peter Shelton in 1941) was living at the other address you gave where Jean Maclean was listed in 1946:

1946 electoral register

161 Sudbury Heights Avenue

Thomas,

Did you or have you concidered getting the marriage certificate of Henry and Jean to clarrify Jeans fathers name as this will be a greater help in being sure of the right person,,,,,,,,Jean born in Newcastle is felt is not the right person you are assuming is Valeries mother and this will take you on the wrong family road of researching by not getting some proof.

A copy of marriage certificate wil cost you £9-25.

Hi - I am the daughter of Henry (Harry) Alfred Langfield who was previously married to Jean Davison and Valerie would have been my half sister! My father died four years ago in Erskine Homes in Scotland in August 2013!

Unknown, try sending Thomas a personal message. He's put a photograph of your Dad with Valerie in his keepsake. I'm sure he'll allow you to access it.

Good luck

Hi - I have contacted Thomas but no response as yet! I am still keen to access any information on Valerie from either Thomas or any of her descendants! I have added two photos of both my Father and Valerie to my keep safe to show the legitimacy of my interest! Thank you!
