Hi All,

How can christening have taken place in 2 places on same day, I have children of Edward Minard christening in Newton Blossomville, Buckinghamshire and also in Little Missenden but looked up on maps and they are around 42 miles apart.

Any thoughts on this.

Hi Wendy - is it possible they were recorded in each of the parents home parishes - it rings a bell that I've got one like that somewhere in the past. It might help if you can get a look at the original - maybe to local RO might be prepared to help.

Is this one of the ones you're talking about - also recorded same date in Little Missenden (from Family Search)

Elizabeth Minard
England Births and Christenings
Name Elizabeth Minard
Gender Female
Christening Date 14 Jul 1756
Christening Date (Original) 14 JUL 1756
Christening Place Newton Blossomville, Buckingham, England
Father's Name Edward Minard
Mother's Name Mary Minard

There seem to be number of Minards in the Bucks area - but it would be too much of a coincidence for it to be 2 families !!!

Odd -
there are more than just the above for Edward and Mary and to other couples too.

Rosetta christened 5.7.1778 Newton B by Edward and Sarah also at Little Missendon
Edward christened 18.1.1769 Newton b by Edward and Eliza also at Little Missendon

Hi greyghost,

Edward himself was christened in both places too on 2 May 1731 son of Joseph and Elizabeth. As for his wife's (he had 3) not sure where they were born yet.

Cannot find his marriage to Mary yet, she died Apr 1763 he then married Elizabeth Luck on 30 May 1763 and she died May 1777, he then married Sarah Eaton in July 1777. Edward and Sarah are my 4th great grand parents.

Looks like all the christening was at both places on same dates must be same family.

My 3rd great grandfather was Francis Eton Minard christened both places on 15 Apr 1781
