For example, Gillian Yarham, has apparently added william maxted to her family tree on Genes Reunited.

How do I find Gillian Yarham's tree to determine whether her William Maxted is the same one as I am interested in ?

Thank you

Malcolm Maxted

You have to contact her and request her to share her tree

GR has a strange way of showing married female members names. Sometimes it's their maiden one, sometimes their married surname

This Gillian has a William Maxted b Herne, 1789
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/messages/544969/discover?rk=18374132

If it's not the William you have an interest in, enter the correct details in the Search all members trees, top left under Search. You may need to select a +|- a few years, and a general area/county rather than a specific village.

Do remember that Genes never deletes a dormant account. As long as they have kept, and can access, the email address linked to their membership they should receive an email saying that you have sent a message. Non paying members can reply to private messages, but not instigate them.

You always see if a message has been accessed. Look in your Sent Message box on GR. If there is an envelope icon next to the message, it hasn't been read.

Happy hunting
