And Gertrude did the same trip, leaving Liverpool on the 13th Oct 1948 and returning on the 5th Dec 1948. This is really puzzling me.. Fred had some connection with the Scouts in Canada, so that could explain his short trip but Fred's estranged wife making the same journey some months before ?? seems a bit strange, need to find out why and where they went.

It would only take about 4 days for a Trans Atlantic crossing so quite possible.

I have spoken to family member and they are interested to know more.
So can anyone tell me about the Canada trip? I have found out going records to Canada for both Frederick and Gertrude.
Frederick left from Liverpool on 5th July 1949 and arrived back in Lliverpool on 5th Aug 1949, surely this is not possible?

Thanks everyone.
I researched this tree some years ago for Fred's grandson, so know about all the scout stuff.
Somehow missed all this back then and think I will leave this tree alone, as it is getting a bit messy.
Thanks again for your help

Wow, so that means that 3 of the 4 children were Fred's, first child registered with both surnames was born in 1929 and her husband Albert Edwards died in 1931..
Can of worms well and truly opened..

they are just the schedule and sub schedule numbers

As they are shown in the registers under both surnames this means the parents werent married but the father has admitted paternity and his name is on the certs

Thanks,
Can you tell me what 95 1 and 95 2 means at the end of the first 2 entries?
I can't find a marriage for Fred and Violet?
Violet T Clarkson married Albert Edwards in 1924 ( albert died in 1931) 3 of the 4 children born from 1929 to 1934 were registered with both surnames Edwards and Dimmock?
At least I know I have the right family now but more questions than answers.
