Joseph was born to Joseph .Goulbourne and Margaret nee Higginson in 1945 in Crosby. He died the same year. Does anyone know how I can get the actual dates of birth and death without certificate?
He was born and also died in the 1st quarter of 1945 so was no more than 3 months old.

You might be able to find a date of burial or cremation. I should think the only way to obtain actual dates would be to buy the certificates.

I agree with rootgatherer that buying the certificates is the only way to find out the actual dates, unless someone older in the family actually remembers.

The free search on GRO usually gives a child's age at death. Sometimes it can be tricky deciding if it's weeks, months or possibly years. In this instance no number is given suggesting he was less than a month old.

Even if you were to buy cert, you might find that the age has been rounded to the nearest week e.g. 3 weeks instead of 20 days.

As you're after the exact dates, then the only course open to you is buying the certificates- as recommended by others.
