Looking for burial of William Shackleton , Manchester Merchant, married 5/2/1787
by banns ,to Sophia Massey at the Manchester Collegiate (Cathedral) as of this parish and Town.

Sophia married secondly-as a widow- Robert Smith, Cordwainer - of this Town & Parish,
11 October 1793. Collegiate Church by Banns

So William died between February 1787 and October 1793 (7 years).
Not located the burials.

Any suggestions please

Have you found where William was born????

May sound a daft question, but there a several burials for William Shackleton in Yorkshire during the period, and I'm just wondering if he was in fact a Yorkshireman, living in Manchester and dealing in wool and died while in that county

"Of this Parish" only means that someone was living in that Parish at the time of the marriage, not that they were born there

Maybe someone from Manchester family history society could point you in the right direction

Sophia was named Massey and was bap in Cheshire. Her mother and siblings are all in St John's registers at Knutsford ,Cheshire.
Apart from her father a farmer at Ollerton, for 20 years. And no burial found , and Sophia ,no local marriage or burial.

Clutching at straws here.
