I knew Francis was a master carpenter and had worked for Waring And Gillow at Lancaster but didn't know about the Royal Train. All very interesting.

I don't know the date of the arrival into US, but as Belgium was invaded 10 May 1940, it could be they were escaping but I don't think there would be a direct route to England?

In Birmingham, work on the Royal train nearing completion. In about three weeks time it is expected that the job will be complete and the specialists who have been working on it can return to their homes. Returning home to Lancaster will be a contingent of employees from Waring and Gillows who have been responsible for all the woodwork in the principal rooms of seven coaches. At the Lancaster factory the planning and general designing has been in the hands of Mr. Frank Wilson, of 6, Lymm Avenue Scale Hail Lancaster, who for the past three months has been paying regular visits to Birmingham to supervise the work....

Frank Reginald Wilson was born in Lancaster. Lancashire in 1924. His father was Francis Samuel Wilson and his mother nee Carter but can't find a marriage.

Reg as he was know had 2 sisters. Norah 1914 and Eileen 1919, both born in Lancaster. Eileen died aged 15 in 1934 after being involved in a motor accident.

Maybe someone would be kind enough to look for the marriage.

It could well be her. Certainly Dianne is right.
Makes you wonder why Lucie would come from American to England especially when she originated from Holland. If she is the right one she must have only been about 17 when she married Reg. as he was known. She must have come with her parents.
