If you look at the original of the 1901 census you'll see that the name is Dods. The previous family was Apter.

Hint: Always look at the original.

Can you give us names and ages so that we can check it out?

Hi everyone

I'm a little confused as to why it appears the whole family changed their surname from Dods in 1981 to Apter by 1901 but then back to Dods by 1911. Can anyone advise?

Thank you,
Jo :-)
