Thanks for your replies safc and ArgylGran, I believe that is the right baptism as George and Martha's first child was named Mary.

Alviegal I still check when it says bachelor or spinster. I had one ancestor who married 4 times and it stated on all 4 certificates spinster.

Thanks for your reply alviegal.

My problem is I only have the baptism of who I believe to be my direct ancestor Charles 10th March 1819 at Burbage and his siblings
Mary 28th April 1804
George 8th Jan 1806
Thomas 5th Feb 1811
Martha 16th March 1817

Parents were George and Martha for all

I have never found the parents in any census.

I will have to look and see if I can find a death for the Ann you found.

Have you seen this one Chris? Perhaps this is the one in the workhouse in 1851. Unless this is a first marriage?

Would someone please check the 1841 census. I am struggling to find George Jacques/Jeaks c1778. I believe I have the right one in 1851 as an inmate in the workhouse at Hinkley, he is shown as a widower born in Warwickshire.

George died on 30th August 1852 at Hinkley.

I believe he had married Martha Pratt (spelling in that record was Jeaks) in 1803 at Sapcote, Leicestershire. It looks like Martha died between 1819 and the 1851 census but haven't identified the death reg..

I would really appreciate any help with this

Chris
