Still can't find Elizabeth Griffiths mother - no Chelton births or marriages associated with the babe Griffirhs
Also which George is my ancestor

There's George Griffiths 1809 & another one 1816 both Newcastle under Lyme but they have different fathers.

Do you think that 1851 census indicates the right Elizabeth ( interesting !!)

I meant in my opening comment George was determined as Elizabeths fatter by the marriage cert not his age or residents in Newcastle ??

Oh just seem that census says born 1847 that would still work out as 18 yrs old for 1865 wedding to George Rawlins (aka Roland's lol)

Oh yeh good idea checking the siblings who were born after 1837 will do that.

The 1871 census is correct I ve come across that before - I don't think it's the right family for 1841 census all Griffiths based around Newcastle u Lyme then movers to burslem - tunstall areas

My direct ancestor is Elizabeth Griffiths 1838 Stoke on Trent there are two possible mothers names for this ancestor - Jackson or Hurst

Elizabeth's father is george Griffiths born newcastke under Lyme staffs (1809) as determined by her marriage certificate 1865 SOT to George Rawlins / Rawlings.

I m struggling to locate a marriage for George Griffths so I can ascertain if Elizabeths mother is hurst or Jackson.
