Oh good grief! Actually I have just connected with a lady who's grandfather was Percy and herself and father (Percy's son) are very interested in this they don't know a great deal! I'm going to England next year and going to meet up, they live in T/Wells, which is where the Most of my paternal family are from. Hmm I'll have to test the waters as some people aren't ready for things such as this! And I thought my Smitherman family were rogues! Well they were in T/Wells from 1850's to the 1930's! I have pages of their antics!
I had contact with a lady a few years ago from Daisy Jenny and she sent me a photo of Daisy at her mother's funeral which had my Ggrandfather in it Daisy's half brother and I was able to tell her who it was........anyway she said apparently it was a celebration "Note joyous faces" were her words as Emma was quite the tarter! In more ways than one! Looks like it could of been passed on!

Referring to your previous post regarding all the children yes the ones with mother 'Haddock' were Job's with his first wife Mary Joseph Henry is my Ggrandfather regarding MaryAnn that also puzzles me as on the 1841 census Job is with Mary and John William plus his parents (John and Ann) plus a Joseph and another girl (can't remember the name) also an Ann I think. Of course they don't give relationship on that census! I believe Joseph to be Job's brother and the 'girl' to be Job's sister or his brother's wife? I know I tried to find her but no deaths etc.

now on the 1851 census Job's father John is widowed and he has an Ann living with him as granddaughter age 15. I was hoping his wife would be alive to see her birthplace! As I found a marriage for a John and Ann Barrow in Kent and she is put as 'not in county' on the 1841 Job too and on all the censuses he is on he consistently puts his birthplace as Cowden Kent. He signed his name on the marriage cert which means he was educated which fits in with his father being a schoolmaster on the 1841 although on 1851 he is a land surveyor.

I have tried to find records of schools in Etchingham Hurst green etc to see if his children or he as a teacher are named but no luck.
Also no baptisms for Job or Joseph but then I know that my Ggrandfather was 'chapel' and they do adult baptisms!
Anyway thank you so much for this information it really is much appreciated I tend to pick up my research and see if I can find more or know down walls!

Joseph Henry's wife Fanny Greener her father George well he has been the toughest! No birth no death! I have his army papers birthplace T/Wells and him and the family returned to Pembury (village next to it) after 10yrs in Ireland in December 1881 then nothing! Wife and children in pembury not him! It wasn't until one time I was looking in the newspapers that had been updated that I found an article from the workhouse there where he worked as a porter that he had suddenly left couldn't cope anymore and was off overseas!
Being 1888 just before the start of the records for leaving England didn't help in my search! Tried arrivals in US Canada Australia New Zealand nothing! I guess with this one it's going to be a matter of chip by chip on this wall! He puts his father as George Greener on his marriage cert but have never found anything possibly Reg under his mother's name one if my grandfathers was!

Oh dear!

Kent & Sussex Courier - Friday 30 June 1916

Daisy Parkes was summoned for neglecting her children, John William aged 14 years; Albert Edward (12), Winifred Grace (9), Doris (7), Percy (4), and Norah (1 1/2), in a manner likely to cause them unnecessary suffering or injury to health at 51 Kirkdale Road, between May 17th and June 17th.

P-Sergt. Mitchell deposed to visiting the home on the 17th inst. and examining the six children, about whom a complaint had been made- All six children were verminous, but the two eldest and the youngest were not so bad as the other three, A garment of one of the boys was so verminous that when he showed it to the mother she put it in the fire and burnt it. Mrs. Parkes told witness she hoped she would get six months, and then she would have a rest. He visited the house again on Friday, and found that a great improvement had been effected. The husband was carter and earned 26s. a week. The children were well nourished.

Dr. F. C. Linton. Medical Officer of Health, gave evidence to the effect that the children w;ere verminous.

Defendant said the children became verminous at school. She had done her best keep them clean.

The Summons was adjourned for a month, and Dr. Linton was asked to make a further report, the woman being told that if the report was satisfactory she would hear nothing further about the matter.

Wow thank you AustinQ
Stuff I didn't know! I did have the access to the papers a few months ago didn't see these two!
Also that Emma had 12 children! I know she had 4 with Job and the youngest a female died 1909
When she married Job she had two I think with her? The others must if all died!
Funny isn't it that one part of the family have lots of children and they carry on and others just peter out!
Job's eldest son most of his children died before they married and his youngest son by his first wife my Ggrandfather he had 7sons and a daughter my grandmother of the sons only one had children that produced! One was killed in WW 1 one took his own life, one didn't marry, three married one died young one daughter and the other two one no children the other lost both as babies!
Thank you once again! Walter Ernest and John Joseph I couldn't find!

Presume this refers to Daisy's father- although the age on the article is wrong:

Kent & Sussex Courier - Friday 12 July 1895

SUDDEN DEATH
A sad case of sudden death occurred in Camden Road on Monday evening. It seems that Job Neal aged 18 years of 16 Granville Road complained of feeling ill whilst he was walking, and Mr W H Marsh of Chandos Road was assisting him home, when he fell down and expired. Dr Simpson who was called, pronounced that life was extinct. Dr Penny certified that death was due to syncope, so an inquest was not held.
-----------------------------

Looks like Emma was living at Walter's address when she died:

Kent & Sussex Courier - Friday 15 May 1925

OBITUARY
Mrs Emma Neal of 24 Granville Road, passed away on Monday week, aged 81 years. The funeral took place in the family grave at the Borough Cemetery, following a service in St Jame's Church, the Ven. Archdeacon A T Scott officiating.

Thank you so much I sure can! There were quite a few children born in that time frame! I guessed the Daisy I saw could be theirs and from 1911 there are three more!
Good that her mother is there too she died in 1925. Could I ask if the last two have any status next to them? Maybe Emma's sister and husband? I see that Emma's two sons Walter Ernest (1877) and John J (1880) aren't there. There was another daughter but she died 1909
Daisy's father was a job Neal and I come from his youngest child with his first wife, there was about 30yrs difference with Emma his 2nd wife she was also a widow with two children of her own!
Anyway thanks once again
