i started looking for Louis born c 1830 in Downham Essex, parents William and Ann.both born Essex.

In1841 he was at home in Downham.

In 1851

Rebecca Blackman Head Widow Female 56 1795 Colour Manufacturer Buttsbury, Essex, England - with Louis Noris 1830 nephew

He then disappears. but where to ?????

I think Rebecca is his fathers Williams sister and in 1841 there is a Sarah Norris born c 1821 living with her.

Could this be Sarah,

William Norris 1798 -1880 married 1st wife Mary Curbey 1799-1823 they had Sarah @ 1819 Downham.
Sarah married 21/7/1842 in Clerkenwell Charles Tarling she died 1892 Hornsey Middlesex.

Info off Ancestry.co.uk tree so please check all info,She had half brother Louis 1830 Downham.

William Norris 1798-1880 2nd wife Ann Robinson 1806-1845.

Hi Mary that is a possibilty.
There are no baptism records so willliam may be born c 1797 but census say 1801, 1806 and 1807 and if 1880 death is correct one birth was 1797.
I can't find a birth or death for Mary Curbey but Essex parish records on line are few and far between.
Anyway thank you, i will add to tree but with big ??? marks.

Looks like the same Sarah Norris that was with Rebecca Blackman nee Norris in 1841.

1841 47,Goswell Street.
1851 Sarah Tarling 20,Goswell Street

Sarah married 1842 to Charles Tarling,he died 6/10/1882 probate £3,896 7s 11d he was late of 42,Goswell Road/Street.

You say that a Kate Tarling b 1861 is on the 1871 census.

The 1861 birth you have posted doesn't show a given name for the female child - why do you think it was Kate as there is not a Kate showing in the 1871 census.

My apologies - Kate is on the 1871 census - I must have accidentally deleted her name and that of Emma when I deleted the word 'transcription' to make the whole thing clearer. Then I used the copied and pasted effort to work from!!

However, on FMP - she is actually listed as aged 15 so born 1856 not b1861 as in your post at 1134 today (per ancestry transcript).
Apart from the added Richard this then shows the children listed in age order

looks like maria died in 1890m she was in the poorhouse i think if i have found the right record.
