Ann
I know she isn't your lady

I was giving you the info for the Mary e Parsons who married in camberwell 1920 showing she isn't the one in your family

The marriage cert on Ancestry gave the details so I was able to follow her up to show you she wasn't your Mary Parsons

Saves you buying the cert and wasting money and following the wrong one

The above army record is not from my family. Sorry

Mary my Grandmother was born in 1883 and her father was Morgan Parsons.

in the 1911 census Albert Harrison was 42 and living in Collinson Street Southwark.

Any chance of seeing the copy from Ancestry,

That camberwell one was a Mary E Parsons

She married Thomas just as Mary so I discounted that one

Hi Shirley

Dont know. One of my wife's cousins was a bridesmaid at his daughters wedding in the 1950's. Thats how we knew he married again.

I did see something in marrages for a Mary Parsons marrying an Alfred Harrison in Camberwell 1920. It a possible that I am looking at. They lived in Queens Buildings Collinson Street.

Ann

Ann Report 2 Nov 2017 16:55

We do know Thomas did re marry and had 3 more children.

Are there any marriages for Mary Parsons after 1919 in and around the Elephant and Castle.

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 2 Nov 2017 16:35

Well divorce was very hard to get in those days unless you had money

Folks separated and went onto have new relationships sometimes marrying bigamously

A woman could have just taken up with someone else and used their surname so would be impossible to find without knowing who they took up with

Thanks for this Shirley.

Richard Parsons in the list above is my father. My Grandmother left my Grandfather around 1918 -1919. We do not know what happened to her after this.

Thomas and Mary abandoned all their children. Children were taken to the poorhouse by the police and then put into a childrens home in Sidcup.

On leaving the home a 14 years old, all except my father Richard were given theie fathers details at Brocklehurst Street. I also known Elizabeth lived with her father.

My father Richard was take to see his mother by Morgan somewhere near the Elephant and Castle between 1909 and 1914. There was another man and children. He never saw them again after that visit, and all the other children never saw her again after they were put into the home in Sidcup.

I am trying to find out what happened to MARY after this.

Thank you
