Odd how the birth registration names seemed random.

So Ellen was illegitimate, mother married a Pickard (not Pickett) but Ellen married under her mother's name.

I have searched 1861 census with dob 1851. There is an Emily Grayson born Darnall. Parents = John and Ann.

Hi.

I have an Ellen Greyson marrying William Darling in 1877.

Census give her approx dob as 1853. 1901 has her with husband and children Mary E 20, Elizabeth A 17, Emily 15, Grace 12, Dora 6 and Francis W 4. There is an additional child Margaret Jane born c. 1878.

I can only find one Ellen Gre(a)yson in 1861 and 1871 census, the latter with parents (Henry 42 + Rebecca 41)/family plus Samuel Simmonite and child. There is a marriage between a Samuel and Ellen Greyson in 1869.

When looking at the mmn of the Darling/Greyson children, Dora and Emily have GREYSON and the rest PICKETT.

Can anyone offer some help please?
