From the GRONI site - record would not be available online, it wouldn't matter where she was actually born.

Before you start

GRONI is often asked 'Why can’t I find my birth record online?' The answer is that only Northern Ireland historic registration records are available to search online. The records available are:

birth records over 100 years old
marriage records over 75 years old
death records (including World War II death records) over 50 years old
You cannot find civil partnership and more recent birth, death and marriage records online however, if you want to search or view these, you can book an appointment at GRONI's Public Search Room in Belfast or, if you know the details, you can apply online for certificates via the green link below.

To everyone who helped search for Patricia Turner in Ireland - I know this message is a year late but to all I did find my Aunt Patricia Turner. I had to send off to NI GRO and hey presto they found her. The detail that was different was that she was born in hospital and lived at c/o Mrs Robinson. Strange how we couldn't find her with the details we had. But never mind I managed to find her and get a copy of her birth certificate.

Once again Thanks to all.

I don't think the 1942 birth on Scotlandspeople is your Patricia. The entry number is 759 and as the entry numbers each year start at 001, it is highly unlikely that that entry would be for a January birth.

Could she been under another christian name but chose to be called Patricia.? or possibly could she have been adopted by the Turner's.?

Is her date of birth on the death record known to you or just been taken from the death index.?

There is nothing showing in Army indexes for that name.neither does that name appear on FMP or familysearch who have birth indexes of NI.

Scotland shows a birth in 1942 but as they dont show a mothers maiden name iits a gamble to buy any certificate.

Here's the link to GRONI, the Northern Ireland GRO. You do have to create an account and purchase search credits - min 50p. A certificate would be extra

Lesley0206 Report 11 Dec 2017 17:02

Hi im searching for records of Patricia Turner who was born in Comber, Northern Ireland?. Her date of birth is 19 Jan 1942. I would like a copy of her birth certificate but I cannot find her anywhere.

Her father, Stanley Horace Turner, was in the army and he was based in Northern Ireland for a short while. His wife, Ethel Turner, was living with a family in a cottage. I think it was on a farm and this was where Patricia was born. At that time Patricia had 2 sisters, Ethel Norma (known as Norma) and Lilian.

Any help would be gratefully received.
