harbour Report 5 Jan 2018 04:53

I have a puzzle that I cant solve. In my tree I have James Thompson born 1823 Underbarrow Westmorland He married Mary Jane Williamson she was born 1831Coulten Lancashire. She is daughter of John Williamson
I have a letter left to a relative part of which states
"First known as an iron seal with arms of Peel-given by a bride a Williamson to her husband as a wedding gift" (describing a ring) She had been a half cousin to houses of Williamson and Peel both of the Peerage
Also a relative living in Lancashire born early 1900 talked about being related to James Williamson born 1842 . He was third child born to James and Eleanor Williamson -He became known as-the lino king Lancashire Lord Ashton

I am wanting to find the connection between Mary Jane Williamson and James Williamson -To prove that the families are connected before I add anything to my tree
Any suggestions as to how I go about this search
Thanks Karen
