If Thomas was in some kind of institution in 1901, he may only have been recorded by his initials.

Thanks but if he died in 1906 why can’t he be found on the 1901 and why is his wife living as a boarder on her own? Or maybe there is another Charlotte Martin of the same age. I am well confused now.

Sorry about this, I thought it would be better on a separate thread?

I have a query on something that was kindly found which I can't solve. A death date was found for THOMAS MARTIN of 1906 aged 84 . the age more or less tallies, therefore I should be able to find him on the 1901 but I can't. I can find his wife Charlotte (I am 99% sure it is her), at age 78 living as a boarder, name of family she is living with is not familiar to me but she is in the right residential area and the right age ( DOB 1824 aged 78 on census)

I can't now find a death for THOMAS (WILLIAM) MARTIN. Can anyone advise please. I have been looking on Family search.
