I'm looking for yet more information, unfortunately it involves the surname Jones and Wales. A Jane Jones (Mother in Law) is shown in a 1881 census and she was married to a Joseph. Jane was from Llanfair, Montgomeryshire. and was born around 1829. Any info about her or Joseph and their parents?

Andy - Looks very promising, both Jane's are about the right age. If Jane the elder mother also Jane was born in Montgomeryshire, then it would be even more promising!

The Joseph Jones posted above in 1861 is a Police Officer.
On Jane's 1874 marriage cert, her father's occupation is Timekeeper.
Jane's address was Grafton Street, which is in Toxteth, according to google earth
1871 census might be helpful.

Your last posting I think you've focused in on the wrong Jane, I was after info about her mother also Jane, married name Jones born about 1829 (ish) so the 1849 or 1850 records may be the one's worth chasing. Knowing my luck it'll be the Jones marrying a Jones!
