She is probably correct in thinking it was a rego office marr.

Since 1898, non-conformists were allowed to apply to to be authorized to keep official marr rego's. Those churchs that had not been authorized would need a registrar to attend the marr ceremony so the couple could sign his official marr rego in the vestry to conclude the ceremony. These rego books were classed the same as rego office marr books,

By 1921, almost the only non-conformist churches that were not authorized were newly built churches whose approval was pending, and RCs (who chose not to apply until 1980-ish).

James Brunton was born in Holywell, Flintshire in early 1887.

He married Mary Geraghty around 1920. It as been told to me that they lived in the Mold area.

Can someone find them for me in the 1939 register please?
