Get his marriage cert for fathers name then you can check back for a possible marriage for his parents

That birth of 1888 would rule him out as the grandpa I am looking for :-(

If that Edgar Broad was the father...and I can't find the birth :-| there is a photo of him on his merchant seaman record on FMP

The problem I have found is that there are a huge number of Broad family members who come from Madley Herefordshire and I have a feeling (nothing other than that) they may be the right line.
