We are searching for information on our ancestor, William Butler. He married mary bowen in 1858 in Riverton, South Australia. Their descendants have farmed on yorke Peninsula, South Australia for many decades. William's chidren were john james, harriett and william. Grand children were henry John (capt. Harry Butler RFC, AFC), Thomas James and Ann- Maria.
We believe William came to australia aged 15 years, and worked as a shepherd, and farm labourer until coming to Yorke peninsula in 1847 with pastoral piioneers George Anstey and Thomas Giles.
