Andrew I just read your post again and saw you found it on ancestry! When I checked one just to see what comes up, it sends you to the NZ historical site, so wonder why I can't find it?

Hi grey ghost. I was wondering if the headstones listed are any Morans? Or burials? Would you know how she could be located? Her husband left the Nelson creek/Ahura area and took his daughter to Westport, am guessing he didn't have the money for a headstone. Possibly her parents were either dead or also didn't have the money for one.
My friend has put a small plaque on her father's grave in Westport about her mother as she felt it was like she didn't exist and I know would like to find her grave and then her and her children ( she had 8, two sons died tragically as teenagers plus her husband died suddenly in between the death of their sons!) can put a headstone or cross on the grave. Thank you so much for your help

Thank you Andrew fir the birth record, when I searched it it didn't come up! and I put from 1910 to 1918! So that solves her age. I'll try again as I would also like to get her birth printout. I guess you found it on the NZ historical bmd? If I can't find it I will try and get it with the info you have given me

Thank you Margaret. Hmm my friend was born 16/12/1938 again I should of been able to find a marriage as its 80 yrs fior marriages so the cut off date is at the moment 20/03/1938 which most possibly means they married after that date! . I wonder how the electoral roll is dated? The name Thomas is right as his full name is John Thomas known by both names!
Wondering if she was on another earlier electoral roll with her Parents? I know women got the vote here around 1895/98 but not sure of the age they had to be before they could vote possibly 21?
I can't find her birth under her maiden name of Moran either of her known names Veronica/Bridget yet if she was 25 when she died that would make it over the 100 yrs for births on the records?
Really sad she died of TB when my friend was 22 mths taken by her father to live with his mother then he died when she was six again of TB

Egan, Veronica - married, Nelson Creek, 25 years, born Nelson Creek - died 26.11.1940, buried 28.11.1940, own plot

She is the 3rd burial listed on that particular page. There is a list of headstones also, but she doesn't seem to appear on that.

Also if it's possible to see the age on the image as I can't find a birth on the NZ historical records, which I should be able to, as if the age is right it would be over the 100 yrs. her maiden name was Veronica Bridget Moran probable parents Patrick Moran and Mary Tobin.

Hi, could some please check this entry on Ancestry, I have an ancestry sub for a month, but it's only for UK.
The name is Veronica Egan and the year 1940. I'm helping a friend, this is her mother who died when she was two. Her father then died in 1944 when she was six! Then she llived with her grandmother and still lives in the same house here in Westport NZ .Her father and grandparents are buried in Westport, she's not sure where her mother is buried. I'd like to get this for her, she is 80 this year, so she can visit the cemetery and if there isn't any headstone get a cross put up
Thank you for your help
