Despite each of several trees on Ancestry showing his birth 24.7.1789 and all having George King and Isabel Laing as his parents,

it seems David married -
Isabella Young Barron and Isabel McIntosh and Anne Robertson

and he died in Fife in 1842 and Tasmania in 1847

And take your pick of Coal Miner or Glazier

The marriage to Isabel McIntosh is the only Tasmanian death however.

Hi - the 'RYERSON INDEX' (on-line) has newspaper death records -to present day. They show (your) 'King's -with dates of death & newspapers their notices were in.

The 'NSW State Library' (on-line)' has an 'Ask a Librarian' service - they will check the various newspaper notices - for family names etc. They also check electoral rolls -past & present. Hopefully they will find many descendants for you.

Hi “greyghost” - thanks for your response. My David King was definitely married to Isabel Macintosh, and he died in Hobart in 1847. He was a serving soldier in King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry when he emigrated from England with his family, as a military guard on prison ship. In his younger days he was a we@ver, living in Fife, Scotland. His death was recorded in local newspaper in Sandy Bay, as was his widow’s. Their son, John, born 1829, later moved from Hobart to Sydney, where he obviously married your Annie Marie Fitzgerald, with offspring as shown. Can I see your family tree please? My tree is available to you for viewing. The Kings (our ancestors, that is). Originated in Fife, Scotland, before moving, maybe 50-60 miles south - quite a distance in those days- to live in West Lothian (just west of Edinburgh) where they remain to this day. My grandfather, John King, was born in Uphall, West Lothian, in 1892, and after marrying and serving in World War 1, he returned home where he lived until he died in 1963.
Looking forward to further contact.
Regards, Jim King
