Can anyone help with details of the marriage of Amelia Littlejohns in East Stonehouss in 1832.

Also looking for baptisms of my children before she ended up in St Helier Jersey, most likely also in the Devon area.

Thank you ??

Try family search site , that’s where lots of parish records are

The only 'details' will be the groom's name, and possibly those of any witnesses

When did she move to Jersey?

What was her name at the time?

Thank you so much Erika. That’s the marriage I’ve been looking for. I have all details of them in St Helier.

Does it give details of William’s father?

The marriage posted would be a parish record. Parish records rarely give details of fathers unlike statutory records than began in England and Wales in 1837.

Thanks everyone.??

Just trying to locate a birth record of their daughter Amelia Elliott in Devon now.

She is in the 1841 census with them in st Helier, but dies between 1841 and 1851 and they have another daughter which they name Amelia again.

Fathers' names are hardly ever on marriage records prior to introduction of Civil Registration in 1837

You won't find a birth record - born before 1837

Look for a baptism on familysearch which is free

Amelia and William married in 1832 so the 11 year old Amelia on the 1841 census may have been the illegitimate child of Amelia and may have been baptised as Littlejohns.

Sorry yes I meant a baptism. I’ve looked on ancestry and family search and can’t find one.

Oh yes I didn’t think she might be illegitimate. Will look into that.

Amelia Jane is their second daughter name Amelia. They also had two daughters they named Sarah.

Thank you everyone.

She may have been illegitimate, and she may not have gone to Jersey with them.

She's of an age to have gone out to work.
