I m looking for ny information about my Gr Gr Gr grandfather John Armstrong. He was born in Canonbie in 1756 and died in Blinkbonie in 1843. He was married to Jean or Jane Dixon who was born C1757. They had four children that I know of.

As you can see I have information about children, but I have nothing further back. I have hit a real brick wall. I would be very grateful if anyone could give me some information

1841 census was rounded down to nearest 5, so from this he could have been born 1752-1756 and it only said whether born in County or not

No sign of marriage or death, though.

Thank you everyone for the information you have provided. I already have all of this informaton but thank you for trying.
I can only go on an asumed birthdate as stated in Census, likewise for birthplace.
The death record I believe to be correct. I have found info to say he is buried in Canonbie Churchyard although I have been unable to find his grave. a lot of the old gravestones were removed and are around the sides of the graveyard.
The John Armstrong whos father was Richard is not my John. Different spouse and he died in 1830's
