OK Sheila, I'm not always the best at explaining myself, but glad you're going to take another look at it- as something isn't quite right with the information you already have. Enjoy your holiday, let us know if you need any help.

Sheila- I wasn't doubting your information re Helen Puxley. I was doubting that the Frederick that married Fanny Maud Lock was the same Frederick that lived with/ married Helen.

Helen was living with Frederick in Manselton Road from at least 1927, but Fanny's Frederick was then still living at 110 Fore Street. So it seems they are different people.

Frederick that married Fanny was born c1878, Frederick that lived with Helen was, according to the 1939 register, born in 1886.
---------------------------

What are the details for Frederick on the 1956 marriage? What is his age/ occupation/ father's name/ marital status?

Sheila Report 1 May 2018 17:34

AustinQ.
The 1939 register is correct as I stayed there with them early 1950`s also on the probate that I didn`t know about is Ethel Mary ( should be May) Stratford was my mother she always said that she never got anything even though G aunt Helen lived with us for a while after Frederick died before going back to Swansea to live with friends.
As I said at the start Frederick and Helen did not get married until 1956 in Exeter, they were staying with us at that time ,she was married to Phillip Puxley he died this I found in a newspaper insert asking for information of the where abouts of Helen Puxley and for her to get in touch to do with a will so only then could she and Frederick get married.
Ref to Ernest William Bowen Webb there is a Richard Bowen Webb in my Frederick `s family.

AustinQ Report 1 May 2018 08:30

I don't think it was the same Frederick- Fanny's husband was still in Fore Street in 1934:

Western Morning News 25 October 1934

CROSSWORD No. 69 Winners

Mr F W WEBB, 110 Fore-Street, Devonport

Mr Webb who has been for 26 years manager of the Singer Sewing Machine Co's premises at 110 Fore street, Devonport is in the habit of sending in seven or eight coupons weekly. 'I think there is a lot of skill attached to it', he said, 'and you stand more chance if you send in a number of entries
-----------------------------------

Then in 1937, Frederick and Fanny's son dies after a day trip to Corwall. Fanny is then described a widow.

23 August 1937 - Western Morning News - Plymouth, Devon,

DEVONPORT MAN DIES AFTER BATHE

Mr Ernest Willian Bowen Webb, aged 20 of 110 Fore street, Devonport, single, living with his widowed mother.......
-----------------------------

So possible/ likely death for Fanny's husband:

Deaths Jun 1935
Webb Frederick W 57 Plymouth 5b 347
------------------------------

What made you think that Fanny's Husband, Frederick, was the same Frederick that was living with Helen?

AustinQ

AustinQ Report 1 May 2018 07:41

Just looking at the 1939 register you mentioned for Frederick- it gives his DOB as 1886- are you sure it is the same Frederick?:

Webb Household (2 People) 143 Manselton Road , Swansea C.B., Glamorganshire, Wales

Frederick W Webb 22 Apr 1886 Male Porter & Warehouseman Married
Helen Webb 21 Sep 1884 Female Unpaid Domestic Duties Married
-----------------------

England & Wales, National Probate Calendar

WEBB Helen of Manselton Road, Manselton Swansea died 19 November 1966 at Mount Pleasant Hospital Swansea Administration Exeter 28 December to Ethel Mary Stratford married woman £1019 Revoked New Grant Exeter 7 June 1967
-----------------------------

Frederick is listed on the electoral register at Manselton Road with Helen from 1927 until 1957- this is likely his death:

What was Frederick's status when he married Helen? Divorced or widowed? It may be that Frederick and Helen waited until after the death of their spouses before they got married.

Not many divorce records have survived (Scottish ones being the exception).
