We don't know who he included in his Will without seeing the document.

The names I posted were the people to whom Probate was granted - in other words, the Executors.

It may be that he was billeted with her for the duration of the War - unfortunately, no way of finding out that I know of.

They were only in their early fifties - could quite easily have been co-habiting

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 12 May 2018 14:45

I've given you Florence's birth from the GRO

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 12 May 2018 14:45

Ignore the marriage I posted - irrelevant.

I looked for that when I was still thinking you actually meant 'Elizabeth'

my mistake
and probably one on 1939
so where does samuel fit in if at all
maybe just company in her aging years

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 12 May 2018 14:42

The DOB on the 1939 could simply be an error on her part. It happened a lot

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 12 May 2018 14:27

Surely Florence is Samuel's wife?

Unlikely that Elizabeth changed her name, I'd have thought

Maddie

Maddie Report 12 May 2018 14:21

Elizabeth was born 20/03/1883 and baptised July 1883 in Middlesborough
parents John Hilton Patchett ad Emma Brown
She dies in Thirsk 1972 a spinster.

I found this on 1939 register, same day and month but year out by 3 years

, Howden R.D., Yorkshire (East Riding), England
First name(s) Last name(s) DOB Sex Occupation Marital status Schedule Schedule Sub Number
Florence R Patchett 20 Mar 1886 Female Unpaid Domestic Duties Single 47 2
Sam L Patchett 25 Jan 1885 Male Farm Worker (General) Single 47 1

could this be the same person as i don't really want to go on a wild goose chase trying to find how Samuel is connected

thank you
Maddie
