I am the great, great granddaughter of Joseph Stace, a ship's surgeon from Brackley. His son, Harry Stace, was my great grandfather. His daughter, my grandmother, Margaret Amy Stace married Geoffrey Summers of Shotton.

I too have a lovely original oil painting of Joseph Stace, as well as lots of photos, pictures, original posters etc of Brackley.

ArgyllGran, I don't think that's Harry's daughter's marriage as she would have been very young. I think it's the marriage of Margaret Alice Stace a possible daughter of Harry's uncle Howard. Back in a minute with more detail. Need to look it up again as I'd posted it yesterday then deleted it because of Margaret Amy's age. :-)

I think it relates back to Joseph Stace a surgeon and prominent man of Southampton..

The Hampshire online newspapers are full of reports about him and his off-springs.

This looks like Joseph's death. It would appear that he didn't live in Brackley although his great grandchildren did.
