There isn’t a Probate Calendar entry. His Estate could have been too small to qualify. There are some instances where Probate isn’t applied for until a number of years after the death.

Yes I could contact the children but I would have to ask if that' the route he wants to take.

The only thing we can say with any degree of certainty is that he is no longer listed on any electoral roll after 2014.
You could approach the nearest council run crematorium/cemetery to see if they’ll search their records for you, but they may make a charge.

Similarly you can request a death record search at GRO costing £9.25. That, at least, would tell you the date he died.

Have you considered tracing forward his children? If the person asking is an old friend of their dad, they’re more likely to share exact details & be happy to reminisce.

Thank you all for the information. It was a friend of my dads who asked me if I could find out when he had died and also where he was buried or ashes interred. He knew him a long time ago.
